Free #WeLearn Spaces For School Nursing Teams

Wednesday 1st February 2017 by @WeSchoolNurses

An opportunity for school nursing teams ….

We are looking for 50 people who are part of a School Nursing Team as part of a pilot project with Public Health England …. Are you interested? Or could you help spread the word?

The WeLearn project is part of work being undertaken by Wendy Nicholson (National Lead Nurse CYP & Families, PHE Chief Nurse Directorate) and Penny Greenwood (Associate Lead Nurse CYP & Families, PHE Chief Nurse Directorate) and WeCommunities and it is exploring new ways of learning and professionally developing using social media.

You can read Wendy's thoughts and why Public Health England have supported #WeLearn on @VivJBennett's blog below:

The pilot module will run from 1st March to 24th March and will be entirely online and use social media to share information and for peer support. The pilot module is:

“Using Social Media for Revalidation”

The pilot module aims to give people the skills and confidence they need to use social media to inform their work, to use social media as part of their work and to use social media to share and celebrate their work; completing the module will also deliver Revalidation ready content.

The module is broken down into small chunks of 10 – 15 minutes per day with three hour long Twitter discussions scattered throughout.  Participants do not need to have any previous knowledge of social media to apply as the course starts at the very beginning and takes you through the basics you need for lifelong learning in the 21st century.

If you are a forward thinking nurse who is part of a school nursing team and you want to apply then please email – welearn@wenurses.co.uk and include your name, your workplace and your job title.
