This was a fast paced conversation between pharmacists and other health professionals representing all areas of the profession in patient facing roles. It was great to see the desire to engage in activities that would help to reduce the risk of people developing AKI and the enthusiasm to make a real difference. The recognition that advising people who are at risk to pause their medicines was a real and essential part of the pharmacist’s professional role was fantastic.

With posters being shared from members of the CPPE team, showing their commitment to promoting the messages, there was a clear challenge to the rest of the profession to think about what each of us has taken as a key learning point from this six week campaign and how we will share that with our team and customers – as well as building new approaches into our routine practice in the future.

The final “So What” session was a great way to capture the actions that people who engaged in the tweet chat are going to take. It seems that the Urine colour comparison charts were a big hit with people – or indeed the beer comparison! And a big thank you to all of those who shared useful resources, sick day rules and their own posters and poetry! With almost 950 000 impressions during the evening itself and people still actively tweeting after the session was brought to a close, it’s clear that this is an area that has sparked professional interest and has helped people see how they can make a difference.
