#WeAHPs - Thursday 28th July 2016 8pm (GMT Standard Time) Making our practice the best practice: Everyday Evidence

If you haven't joined in a tweet chat before it's very simple.    Here's a guide

 Chat Details

Hosted by WeAHPs using #WeAHPs

This chat is guest hosted by @SarahChapman30 @NaomiMcVey

Cochrane UK launched the Evidence for Everyday Allied Health series #EEAHP at NHS England's Chief AHP Conference at the end of June.

On Thursday 28th July we are delighted to be joining with Sarah Chapman from Cochrane to hold the first tweetchat of the series.  We'll be focusing on the who, what, where, why and how of making evidence part of our everyday decision making as well as continuous improvement and service improvement and transformation. We'll discuss some of the barriers and enablers to doing this, and how we can use resources from Cochrane and other organisations to support us.

About #EEAHP: short, sharable evidence

Rapid change. Information overload. Not enough time. I’m sure you could quickly add more obstacles to keeping up to date with research and ensuring your practice is evidence-based best practice. Cochrane recognise this and getting evidence to you, where you want it, in quick, easy and sharable formats are drivers for this new series. The series will include blogs and blogshots on a  range of topics and you can find out more from Evidently Cochrane here: www.evidentlycochrane.net/evidence-everyday-new-allied-health-professionals/

Pre-chat questions

  1. What is evidence-based practice? What isn't it?
  2. Why do we need to make sure our practice and services are evidence based?
  3. What are some of the barriers to putting evidence into practice?
  4. What can help us?

Pre-chat resources:

About our co-host Sarah Chapman @SarahChapman30

Sarah's work as a Knowledge Broker at Cochrane UK focuses on disseminating Cochrane evidence through social media, including Evidently Cochrane blogs, blogshots and @CochraneUK on Twitter. She has a keen interest in exploring ways to share health evidence widely and encourage engagement with it, and in ensuring that research is shaped by the questions patients want answered. Before joining the UKCC in 2007, Sarah worked for a number of UK-based institutions, including the University of Oxford and the Royal College of Nursing Institute, conducting systematic reviews in many areas of health. A former nurse, Sarah also has a degree in History from the University of Oxford and in the history of women’s health and illness in early modern England (MPhil., University of Reading).

About Cochrane

Cochrane is a global independent network of researchers, professionals, patients, carers, and people interested in health. Their work is recognised as representing an international gold standard for high quality, trusted information. Cochrane UK is a regional centre within Cochrane, supporting Cochrane activities in the UK.
