How often do you stop and take time to look around and see what you have achieved? 

How often do you take time to share the good stuff? 

How often do you celebrate what you and your team have done? 

How often do you seek feedback on projects from outside of your own workplace? 

How often do you give opportunity to others to ask questions about the great work you have done? 

I am betting that the answer to these questions is somewhere in the region of "not nearly enough" Recently I had a conversation with Ann-Marie Riley (@AnnMarieRiley10) Deputy Chief Nurse at Nottingham Hospitals who told me how she and a team of nurses had travelled to a Magnet conference in the United States; Ann-Marie shared with me how the projects that were being shared by American Nurses at the conference, whilst fab, were actually very much in line with what we are achieving in nursing herein the UK ... the difference is that the American nurses celebrated the value and contribution of nursing much better than we do! We wanted to replicate that celebration of the wonderful work nurses lead and the value it adds to our profession. So we plotted and planned and came up with an idea:

On 26th January in conjunction with the amazing nurses at Nottingham Hospitals we will be holding a #WeNurses Twitter discussion with a difference... 

We will be sharing two 2 minute videos on Twitter around 2 brilliant projects at Nottingham Hospitals and inviting you to give feedback,ask questions and share thoughts and ideas around the project AND, most importantly, connect you with the people who are part of the projects –a bit like a breakout session at a conference…but via Twitter.  The two subject areas we will be tackling are: Thinkdrink and the Newly Qualified Nurses Council.
