#WeDNs - Wednesday 28th June 2017 8pm (GMT Standard Time) Responding to the NMC Consultations

If you haven't joined in a tweet chat before it's very simple.    Here's a guide

 Chat Details

Hosted by WeCommNurses using #WeDNs

The Nursing and Midwifery Council has recently published consultation documents outlining a programme of change of education so that future nurses and midwives are equipped to work across health and social care. This chat will consider the consultation from a community nursing perspective to prepare you to respond to the consultation whether it as an individual or as a group.

Prior to the chat you may wish to access the relevant documents:

https://www.nmc.org.uk/education/education-consultation/

Some of the questions we will explore are:

  1. What does person centred care mean in the community?
  2. What nursing procedures are required of the registered nurse in the community?
  3. What relationship and communication skills are required to nurse in the community?
  4. Do the new models of supervision promote inter-professional working?
  5. Are the terms practice facilitator and practice assessor suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate students?
  6. Local areas will have flexibility to agree on local supervision models. Do you agree with this?
  7. Do you agree with the proposal to adopt the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's single competency framework for all prescribers?
  8. Who should supervise and assess prescribing students?
  9. What are the advantages of having quicker access to prescribing programmes?
  10. What are the challenges in implementing the new standards?
