Hello Teresa here just checking into #AllOurHealth
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:31
@PUNC14 Honestly, none! Until the #allourhealth learning I didn’t realise the impacts.
@EDNurseKitty
15 October 2020 19:32
@PUNC14 General discussion about car usage etc public transport etc. Must admit my knowledge wasn’t great but feel this weeks daily modules have helped a lot. #AllOurHealth
@RachelHolding6
15 October 2020 19:33
@PUNC14 Honestly, nothing... yet! It's an area that I know very little about, and didn't actually consider until very recently #allourhealth
@mrsmarshall_
15 October 2020 19:33
@PUNC14 Hope to share information about this in the future as did not know the true impacts #allourhealth
@becksreynolds
15 October 2020 19:34
It’s been a real eye opener isn’t it #AllOurHealth https://twitter.com/punc19laura/status/1316808956514365447
@SamSwabyPUNC
15 October 2020 19:34
@PUNC14 Honestly very little if anything with patients, family we may discuss traffic fumes, second hand smoke and now vaping and on our travels talk about the factorys and refineries waste coming out the furnaces. But not really about the effects on our health #allourhealth
@PUNC_ctrout
15 October 2020 19:35
@PUNC14 I love learning about the environment and how to best protect it but I've never considered how the environment and air pollution effects our health so this week's module is equipping me with the right info to inform others! #allourhealth
@AgencyNurse
15 October 2020 19:35
I was the same Laura .... the Air Pollution element of #AllOurHealth really opened my eyes https://twitter.com/PUNC19Laura/status/1316808956514365447

15 October 2020 19:36
That's really great to hear #AllOurHealth https://twitter.com/PUNC19Kitty/status/1316809085275254784
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:36
@AgencyNurse I knew the basics - pollution = bad for health but I wouldn’t have talked about it with patients #AllOurHealth
@DebbieC39
15 October 2020 19:37
#Allourhealth only really thought about the dangers of smoking indoors
@PUNC14
15 October 2020 19:37
Do you think this will change following this weeks learning Sam? #AllOurHealth https://twitter.com/SamSwabyPUNC/status/1316809746050158600
@SamSwabyPUNC
15 October 2020 19:37
@PUNC19Laura @AgencyNurse Its seen very much an environmental impact and the health impact has come secondary i feel #allourhealth
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:38
@SamSwabyPUNC @AgencyNurse Yep this! #allourhealth
@SamSwabyPUNC
15 October 2020 19:39
@PUNC14 Yes definitely, #allourhealth has provided the resources to further develop knowledge and understanding and start to bring our learning into practice.
@AgencyNurse
15 October 2020 19:40
@PUNC19Laura yes absolutely ... for me #AllOurHealth really brought these issues into my consciousness
@PUNC14
15 October 2020 19:40
QUESTION 2 What are the barriers to sharing information about air pollution with patients and families? #AllOurHealth https://t.co/28FTF5QKgS
@HelenPopham4
15 October 2020 19:40
#Allourhealth I have also had little experience with discussing air pollution with patients'. However, I have found this week very interesting, especially aspects of indoor pollution!!

Well said #AllOurHealth https://twitter.com/SamSwabyPUNC/status/1316810559111782400
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:41
@PUNC14 Lack of interest or willingness to change. Sometimes it can feel like we are trying to get so much information in that meaningful conversation is lost. It has to be relevant to the conversation #allourhealth
@HelenPopham4
15 October 2020 19:41
#Allourhealth Resistance to make changes
@PUNC14
15 October 2020 19:41
Anyone else found indoor air interesting ?? Is this something you had considered before ? #AllOurHealth https://twitter.com/HelenPopham4/status/1316811137195925505
@SamSwabyPUNC
15 October 2020 19:42
@PUNC14 Many patients like us may not understand that air pollution, especially indoor air pollution has such a severe impact on health and less likely to know how to find out what they can do to reduce air pollution themselves and avoid poor air quality areas #allourhealth
@AgencyNurse
15 October 2020 19:42
@HelenPopham4 especially at the moment as we are all spending more time in .... opening windows has definitely become a "thing" in our house now ;D #AllOurHealth
@DebbieC39
15 October 2020 19:42
@PUNC14 #Allourhealth lack of knowledge and understanding - although I think some parents are aware of the dangers of air pollution around schools - I think there should be notices displayed so everyone is more aware

@mrsmarshall_
15 October 2020 19:43
@PUNC14 Information is not always shared in ways that are appropriate to the most deprived patients #AllOurHealth
@RachelHolding6
15 October 2020 19:43
@PUNC14 I found it quite terrifying actually! ?? I didn't quite realise that indoor pollution can be worse than outdoor pollution - especially in children and the potential onset of asthma because of it! #allourhealth
@AgencyNurse
15 October 2020 19:44
Having the information to share .... great that #AllOurHealth shares so many great resources to help with this ... we just need to share them far and wide now https://twitter.com/PUNC14/status/1316811092992065537
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:44
@DebbieC39 @PUNC14 Ugh from the nighmare parking and Chelsea tractors on my road daily I don’t think many parents give a toss when it’s raining and the kids are playing up! #allourhealth I live by a school
@SamSwabyPUNC
15 October 2020 19:44
@PUNC14 Yes, and that we spend up to 80% of our time indoors, now more then ever in what we consider to be our safe place. #allourhealth
@PUNC14
15 October 2020 19:44
A really great point ... what can help here ? What is needed ? #AllOurHealth https://twitter.com/mrsmarshall_/status/1316811913175740416
@becksreynolds
15 October 2020 19:44
@PUNC19Laura @PUNC14 It’s an interesting point, how to we spark interest to develop those conversations!? #AllOurHealth
@RachelHolding6
15 October 2020 19:45
@PUNC14 From what I've just gathered in the last few minutes - general understanding surrounding air pollution is a barrier. So perhaps we all need a bit more education so that we are best equipped to inform others #allourhealth
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:46
@becksreynolds @PUNC14 I don’t know! Air pollution is something I feel like I would struggle to bring into conversations when doing adult nursing? #AllOurHealth unless directly related to the conversation.
@AgencyNurse
15 October 2020 19:46
@DebbieC39 @HelenPopham4 ahh yes good point ( i dont) certainly worth remembering when talking to families .... sometimes it may be about balancing risks one way or another #AllOurHealth
@PUNC_ctrout
15 October 2020 19:46
@PUNC14 It's easy to forget what the impacts of air pollution are and to just accept how we live our day to day lives surrounded by so many activities that contribute to this. Spreading awareness will not only help improve our health but hopefully reduce air pollution too #allourhealth
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:47
@DebbieC39 @becksreynolds @PUNC14 No! I live on a side street and we have had cars written off or damaged due to school run rush. We are only a small street and this just isn’t practical or fair for us - or safe! #allourhealth
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:48
@becksreynolds It’s an absolute nightmare. Oversized gas guzzlers for one child and careless parking and disregard for residents cars.... a sore subject! #allourhealth
@becksreynolds
15 October 2020 19:49
@PUNC19Laura @DebbieC39 @PUNC14 I thought that they were considering introducing low emission zones around school but that may have been shelved #allourhealth
@mrsmarshall_
15 October 2020 19:49
@PUNC14 By ensuring that this kind of information is readily available in different formats and to teach this from school age so awareness is high across the entire population #allourhealth
@PUNC14
15 October 2020 19:50
QUESTION 3 What is the best approach to take when sharing information with patients and families re air pollution? #AllOurHealth https://t.co/HbQVWSuj6U
@AgencyNurse
15 October 2020 19:50
@PUNC19Laura @DebbieC39 @becksreynolds @PUNC14 there needs to be a major culture shift ... we need to move away from using our cars for absolutely everything ! I have known parents leave early to get a parking space outside of school ... in that time they could have walked ! #AllOurHealth
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:50
@becksreynolds @DebbieC39 @PUNC14 If anything it’s gotten worse over the years, not better, larger cars and more traffic, less walkers. Never heard of low emission zone however would be terrible to enforce as manners seem scarce! #allourhealth
@DebbieC39
15 October 2020 19:51
@PUNC14 Promote clean air day #Allourhealth
@AgencyNurse
15 October 2020 19:51
@PUNC19Laura @becksreynolds we used to have a local school 'walking bus' but funding was pulled & parents just didnt have the enthusiasm to take it on ... such a shame ! #AllOurHealth
@PUNC14
15 October 2020 19:52
RT @DebbieC39: @PUNC14 Promote clean air day #Allourhealth
@becksreynolds
15 October 2020 19:52
@AgencyNurse @PUNC19Laura @DebbieC39 @PUNC14 It is about role modelling to the kids that walking is good too, of course they want the easy option but that’s not necessarily the healthy one (goes for a lot of things) #allourhealth
@AgencyNurse
15 October 2020 19:53
yep .. this #AllOurHealth https://twitter.com/becksreynolds/status/1316814265190359046
@DebbieC39
15 October 2020 19:53
@AgencyNurse @PUNC19Laura @becksreynolds #Allourhealth such a shame - everyone has busy lives and has to be somewhere else I suppose
@EDNurseKitty
15 October 2020 19:54
@PUNC14 Lack of interest the subject can appear rather dry but it’s about breaking down those barriers and we are all responsible we all contribute even if we think we don’t we do in the smallest of ways #AllOurHealth
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:54
@becksreynolds @AgencyNurse @DebbieC39 @PUNC14 Encouraging healthy habits has long term benefits! #allourhealth
@RachelHolding6
15 October 2020 19:54
Our local schools are very big into the environment and climate change. They've taken part in protests and parades through the town, it's great to see #allourhealth https://twitter.com/mrsmarshall_/status/1316813468343963650
@EDNurseKitty
15 October 2020 19:55
@PUNC14 Open conversations. Small little tips and dropping into chats as appropriate instead of bombarding or preaching #AllOurHealth
@PUNC14
15 October 2020 19:55
And finally ... When and where should information re air pollution be shared with patients and their families?? #AllOurHealth https://t.co/CRAVeGvKeS
@becksreynolds
15 October 2020 19:55
RT @PUNC19Laura: @becksreynolds @AgencyNurse @DebbieC39 @PUNC14 Encouraging healthy habits has long term benefits! #allourhealth
@mrsmarshall_
15 October 2020 19:55
@PUNC14 To engage with patients, to involve them in ways to improve indoor and outdoor air pollution and to give them the knowledge to share with their friends and families. #AllOurHealth
@DebbieC39
15 October 2020 19:55
#AllOurHealth its a real shame electric cars are not more affordable - and they also need massive infrastructure to support them - not everyone has the ability to charge them at home
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:55
@PUNC14 Being open to barriers and offering realistic solutions that make change seem easier for people #allourhealth
@PUNC_ctrout
15 October 2020 19:55
@PUNC14 Raising awareness to get people thinking about how air pollution can effect us so that people start to think about it more in their daily life. Signpost to resources to further their understanding - docu-series etc are a interesting way to get this info across #allourhealth
@DebbieC39
15 October 2020 19:56
@mrsmarshall_ @PUNC14 #Allourhealth absolutely agree with this
@RachelHolding6
15 October 2020 19:57
@PUNC19Kitty @PUNC14 A great point... and that can be a real challenge can't it? To not bombard or push issues that we feel strongly about #allourhealth
@PUNC14
15 October 2020 19:57

@PUNC_ctrout
15 October 2020 19:58
@PUNC14 Also making sure we are being aware ourselves!! If we practice what we preach, hopefully family and patients will look to our actions and implement these themselves! #allourhealth
@RachelHolding6
15 October 2020 19:58
@PUNC14 Having a chat with people about what they know already. Guide them towards further information if they want to know more #allourhealth

@RachelHolding6 @PUNC19Kitty @PUNC14 Yes is it a challenge if people don’t recognise the impact of air pollution or how much influence they could have over reducing this #AllOurHealth
@PUNC19Laura
15 October 2020 19:59
@PUNC14 Anytime that is appropriate!! #allourhealth
