Experience of Care Week 2023: Improving experiences of care across health and social care

Taking place from Monday 24th to Friday 28th of April, Experience of Care Week is a chance to share and amplify the work taking place across health and social care to improve experiences of care for patients, carers and families and improve the experience of delivering care for staff.

The theme for Experience of Care Week 2023, which has been coproduced with patients, carers and staff, follows a person’s life journey. NHS England’s Heads of Patient Experience (Hope) Network is hosting a series of online webinars throughout the week to share learning and best practice from across different settings.

It begins on Monday 24 April with webinars on maternity and neonatal services and concludes on Friday 28 April with a focus on bereavement services. These events are aimed at patient experience leads, as well as nursing, midwifery and other healthcare professionals who have an interest in improving experiences of care and tackling health inequalities.

The themes for each day:

Monday 24 April: Maternity, neonatal and children’s services

Tuesday 25 April: Younger people and transition to adult services

Wednesday 26 April: Person and family centred care

Thursday 27 April: Older people with frailty and dementia

Friday 28 April: Palliative, end of life and bereavement care

As part of the week, the Hope Network is also asking colleagues to share their own good practice or projects that have had a positive impact on experiences of care and care delivery. Share your work by emailing Lesley Goodburn

You can get involved on social media by following the Hope Network’s Twitter account @HopeNetworkNHS or using the hashtag #ExpOfCare and join in a WeCommunities MDT #ExpOfCare tweetchat too on Thursday at 8:30pm, details here:
