Adam Layland @agclayland: Adam's career commenced when he joined Staffordshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust in 2005, working as a volunteer in the community and as a GP out of hours call taker in 2006. He obtained his Paramedic qualification through Sheffield Hallam University and East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust in 2008 before commencing as a Paramedic with West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Adam was quickly promoted to an Advanced Paramedic and Community Paramedic Officer before being seconded to support the Executive Management Team. During the secondment Adam was a Staff Officer to the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Service Delivery, ensuring that the strategic direction of the Ambulance Service was followed, whilst undertaking project work to support the Trust. He has also held roles in other NHS Ambulance Services; in the London Ambulance Service he was a Mentor Paramedic (Practice Placement Educator), training newly qualified Paramedics to the high standards required by the Health and Care Professions Council. For Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust he was an Operational Support Manager in the Gloucestershire Area responsible for the delivery of the 999 service before becoming the Senior Operations and Performance Manager for the Patient Transport Service across Great Western Region. 

Adam re-joined West Midlands Ambulance Service in 2012 as a Senior Operations Manager partaking in duties across all sectors of the organisation. He held roles as the Head of Transformation and Head of Operations for the region and was a member of many sub-board groups, including being a Tactical Commander for the organisation. He was an Executive Director for The Larrey Society Ltd, is a Member of the Institute for Healthcare Management, Member of the Chartered Management Institute, Member of the British Academy of Management, Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Member of the College of Paramedics, where he was also the Parliamentary Lead. 

Adam completed a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Leadership with the NHS Leadership Academy, University of Manchester and the University of Birmingham in 2016. He was honoured with a Senior Award in Healthcare Leadership by the NHS Leadership Academy and was runner-up for the NHS Inspirational Leader of the Year 2014 and nominated for NHS Leadership Award in Leading Service Improvement and Innovation for 2016. He is passionate about the improvement of patient care, and staff development through excellent leadership and management. He joined Coventry University in 2017 as an Assistant Professor in Leadership and Management, currently undertaking his PhD in Healthcare Leadership. In April 2019 Adam become the Associate Dean for Enterprise and Innovation in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences where he is responsible for a portfolio across the Faculty consisting of: Continuing Professional Development, Consultancy, Commercial Research, Apprenticeships, Intellectual Property and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. In addition to this Adam is a member of the Faculty Leadership Team and since June 2019 represents Health and Wellbeing on the City of Culture 2021 Steering Group for the University.

Adam is also the Deputy Executive Lead for the Midlands Engine Mental Health and Productivity Pilot, an £8.1m government funded project across the Midlands region. Adam is an Editorial Board member and reviewer for the British Journal of Healthcare Management, and the Indonesian Journal for Health Administration, with reviewing positions for the International Journal of Workplace Health Management, the Leadership in Health Services Journal, and the Journal of Paramedic Practice. He was elected in August 2018 as Governor of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest NHS organisations. Adam has also been appointed as the Co-Chair of Leadership and Management Working Group of the International Network on Health Workforce Education. He is the UK Chair of the BSI Committee on Healthcare Organization Management and he is also a Director for Community Minibuses Limited, a subsidiary of Community Transport, a National Charity. 

Debra Crelly @Debswakefield: "Following 10 years in private sector I have now worked in the health service for over 23 years. I am a LEAN and an A4C practitioner, and have worked both in Transformation and in Operations. I’ve led on many projects including; Introduction of call reminders to reduce DNA’s, creation of a scanning team to achieve a paper-light organisation, creation of a GP streaming service within ED, building of an Ambulatory Emergency Care Service, 7DS, and a new build Acute Assessment Unit. In the time that has passed it won’t come as a surprise that my latest venture is the creation of a menopause support group! I aim to raise awareness, provide support and help ladies to take back control of challenging symptoms through sharing tips and learning from and empowering  each other, #MyPause."

Evelyn Prodger @evelyn_prodger: "I qualified as a nurse in 1991 and went on to complete a BSc (Hons) Professional Practice and a MSc Advanced Nurse Practitioner. My clinical background began in medicine, specifically elderly medicine, dermatology and haematology. As a senior nurse I have worked in elderly medicine, Community Hospitals, Responsive Services and as a Nurse Specialist for Older People supporting Care Homes. I was a General Manager in the NHS managing Community Hospitals and Urgent Care. I am currently the Head of Community Service at Martlets Hospice.  In 2017 I gained my Queens Nurse Award. I am a member of Q and have a keen interest in quality improvement and people and practice development. I am a member of the Community Hospitals Association (CHA) Committee with a focus on Innovation and Best Practice. Community Hospitals fulfil a vital role within the NHS but are often not represented in mainstream work. I am passionate about the added value Community Hospitals and staff working in them bring to local populations."

Julia Wilson @julia_wilson70 "My name is Julia Wilson and I have just started a secondment as the Trust AHP lead for the Kent & Medway Partnership Trust. I have been an Occupational Therapist for over 20 years working in physical and mental health settings within the NHS, private companies and charities. I am a passionate manager and enjoy staff and service development. I am always looking for new challenges and love that my job is different every day. In my spare time I am a school governor, I enjoy running and being with my family."

Lyse Edwards @Lyse_e: "I am currently Head of Operations for the Children and Families Care Group at Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust. After starting life as a research worker in Mental Health I moved into NHS management via the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme in 2000.  Since graduating from the scheme I've worked in a variety of roles, firstly transformation, but mainly operational roles in acute trusts and community providers, both within the traditional NHS but also within the independent sector.   Over that time I've managed a variety of specialisms, services and teams across a whole range of settings and I've also managed adult social care as part of an integrated health and social care community provider.  I'm new to Children's service and really enjoying learning new things, but find wherever and whatever I manage in the NHS and social care many of the issues are the same and can probably be boiled down to resources and relationships! I am a member of the Q community and Proud2bOps. I'm a passionate user of Liberating Structures and am sharing and spreading this through my networks and have formed a Midlands based Liberating Structures user group. In my spare time I'm mum to 8 year old boy/girl twins and on a Thursday evening can be found being Bagheera at their Cub pack!"

Mosan Ashraf @PharmMohsin: Mosan Ashraf is the advanced pharmacist for homecare medicines at University Hospitals Derby & Burton NHS Foundation trust. Mosan previously worked as a senior high cost drugs pharmacist, has a diploma in clinical pharmacy and is an independent prescriber. In addition to this, Mosan is a QI member at the health foundation, a specialist advisor to the CQC and a proud son, husband and farther. Mosan is currently an NHS Leadership academy MBA candidate at Alliance Manchester Business School.

Paul Jebb @Pauljebb: Paul Jebb OStJ MA BSc(Hons) DipHE RN Paul qualified as a nurse in 1996 and worked in numerous posts within nursing, as well as a period in operational management, then in 2010 returned to nurse, then in October 2014, Paul undertook a secondment to the National Patient Experience team at NHS England as Experience of Care Professional Lead, leading on developing Always Events, aspects of the carers work stream and toolkit development to enhance experience of care.

In December 2016 Paul returned to an NHS Trust and is now Associate Director of Nursing at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS FT and is currently on a secondment as Deputy Director of Nursing at Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals NHS Trust. Paul has been involved and led on numerous quality improvement initiatives throughout his career, and has gained the extra mile award by the motor neurone disease Association, in 2012 Paul was winner of a national Patient Safety Award, and in 2014 Paul and his team won a national healthcare communications award for best engagement.

In April 2016 Paul became an International Fellow of the England Centre for Practice Development at the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing, Canterbury Christ Church University.

In February 2014 Paul was honoured to be offered an Honorary Senior Lectureship at the University of Central Lancashire. Paul is also a member of an NMC Professional Standards advisory panel, which aims to give strategic direction to the NMC Executive team and to improve the dialogue between the NMC and leaders in the professions and to ensure expertise, is brought to bear on NMC work. Paul was also part of the strategic group to refresh the NMC Education Standards.

Paul has represented the Royal College of Nursing at local, regional, national and international levels, is a member of RCNi Editorial Advisory Board. Paul also judges several national nursing and health care awards. Paul has also been the Assistant Chief Nurse (Head of Workforce) for St John Ambulance (England & the Islands), and has held other voluntary roles. In 2012 he was honoured with the award of ‘Officer of the Order of St John’. Paul has developed his managerial skills and has completed an MA in Health Service Management. Paul also completed the Dept. of Health/RCN leadership Course for Nurses Working with Older People in 2005, and he was a Fellow of the NHS Institute Faculty of Improvement. And in 2016 completed the ‘Aspirant Executive Nurse Leaders’ sponsored by NHS Improvement at London South Bank University.

Sue Greenwood @SueGreenwood15: "Having worked in Cornwall for 18 years in many roles from School Nursing, Workforce and HR, County wide Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children, Dementia Lead and my current role as Modern Matron I have had the pleasure of engaging with many different staff members. My proudest moment was being awarded an MBE for services to Nursing and being the joint recipient of Nursing Times Team of the year. My family home is in St Day, my children, now married have settled in Falmouth and Redruth with their own children so the area I know very well as my home is where I wish to serve. My current role and primary wish is to support the community who we serve and secondly to support our staff in providing care and services in whatever role they have within Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust."

Thomas Glover @tomdglover: Tom recently joined the National Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) programme as the Regional Manager for GIRFT across North West England having previously held roles at Pennine Acute Hospital NHS Trust as Directorate Manager for Urology services. Tom brings with him 12 years’ experience in the NHS holding positions in senior and operational management roles in the acute healthcare sector across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.Tom is currently studying towards an MSc in Management Practice at the University of Manchester and Chartered Manager status.

Jen Hutton @jenjenhutton: Squadron Leader Jennifer Hutton BSc MSc MIHM RAF Sqn Ldr Hutton is an RAF Medical Support Officer. She is a Durham University graduate with a degree in Environmental Sciences, and an Anglia Ruskin alumnus after completing a postgraduate degree in Healthcare Management.

Sqn Ldr Hutton joined the RAF in Feb 2008 and has experience in Primary and Secondary Care environments and in recent years has specialised in Capability and Acquisition for the Defence Medical Services. She has completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan working in the Hospital at Bastion facilitating the aeromedical evacuation of the sick and injured to definitive care in the UK.

Sqn Ldr Hutton is currently the Officer Commanding Capability and Sustainment Squadron at Tactical Medical Wing, RAF Brize Norton, which delivers effective and timely logistical and engineering support to deployed and deployable healthcare capabilities for the RAF.

Away from work, Sqn Ldr Hutton is a keen sportswoman trying to reduce her ParkRun time and is an improving skier. She lives in Oxfordshire with her husband, who is also in the RAF, and their daughter.

Loretta Outhwaite @l_outhwaite Loretta, a Chartered Management Accountant, is an experienced Director/Chief Finance Officer, who has worked for over 30 years within healthcare and the public sector in the UK and in Jersey.

In 2018, Loretta founded ‘Turn the Tide Solutions Limited’, which delivers consultancy, interim support, training and coaching and mentoring to executives, aspiring leaders and managers. A recent addition to the business is ‘The Lettuce Patch’, which focuses on personal development and supporting small businesses owners.

Loretta is a passionate about personal development, life-long learning and diversity and inclusion. Whilst SRO for the NHS Future-Focused Finance workstream ‘Great Place to Work’, Loretta led work on diversity and career development. She has been a tutor for the HFMA Academy on their ‘Managing the Healthcare Business’ module and is a mentor for the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme and Public Finance by Women. In addition, Loretta is a member of the BSI ‘Healthcare Organisation Management’ committee and the lead for the Institute of Healthcare Management on a number of groups.

Tracy Green @TracyAGreen1: Tracy is the head of primary care for Quality Compliance Systems (QCS). Tracy has worked in general practice management for over 13 years with a passion for turning around vulnerable or struggling practices and making a difference to patients. Tracy has been a Care Quality Commission (CQC) practice manager specialist adviser since 2014 along with being a peer appraiser, national trainer, dementia friend champion and a trustee board member with her local Health watch. Tracy worked nationally for 18 months as the general practice development and primary care network (PCN) lead supporting practices, PCNs and federations. Tracy is a chartered fellow with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and a fellow with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) holding postgraduate qualifications in strategic leadership.
