The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Faculty has supported pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists with their professional development for over five years, since it was launched in June 2013. It provides a structure for identifying what individuals need to know at different stages of practice, allowing them to demonstrate a level of attainment and stage of development. It also enables you to demonstrate your commitment to continuous professional development and life-long learning,preparing you for revalidation.
Following recent posts on Twitter about the RPS Faculty (from those who are building their portfolios), it was identified that it would be beneficial to deliver a TweetChat to enable pharmacists who are building their portfolio, Faculty members, and Faculty Assessors to share their tips.
Our chat on Thursday 27th aims to support those who are building their Faculty portfolio to help them overcome some of the challenges they may have experienced and to dispel myths about the Faculty submission process. We’ll be sharing top tips from members and assessors, and help you navigate through all the available resources and supporting you to submit for assessment.
Why get involved?
- Are you thinking of using the Faculty for your development but unsure how to get started?
- Have you been building your portfolio for sometime now and want to check that you are on the right track?
- Are you preparing for your recognition of expert pharmacy practice (REPP) assessment but are confused about what you need to do?
- Have you lost momentum with your portfolio and want to regain focus to get to submission?
- Are you almost ready to submit but unsure if you’ve done enough?
- Have you been through the process and are wondering what to do next?
- Are you a Faculty member who can provide others with advice on your experience?
To date over 450 pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists have been recognised through this process, and approximately 3,500 are building their portfolios. International colleagues have also recognised the value and benefits of the Faculty; 11 pharmacists from Iceland recently became members. Regardless of where you are in the process join the conversation. Support your peers and help them ‘commit to submit’.

Then mapped some of these entries into other clusters. The impact statements helped me to justify the competencies. If I couldn’t justify certain competencies, I just didn’t link them. #WePh |
